Reading
Building Our Camp Community — Stories of Friendship and New Beginnings:

Wiz Kids will strengthen their reading comprehension by exploring stories about friendship, teamwork, and new beginnings. They will identify main ideas, key details, and characters while connecting story themes to their own experiences as they settle into camp. Throughout the week, campers will engage in read-alouds, retelling activities, and creative group projects that build confidence and connection. By the end of the week, they will demonstrate understanding through sequencing, discussion, and a collaborative “Camp Connection Mural” that celebrates their shared community and goals for the summer.

Math
Camp Math Adventures — Counting, Teamwork, and Patterns All Around

Wiz Kids will strengthen their math skills by exploring numbers, shapes, and patterns through fun, movement-based activities that build teamwork and confidence. They will practice counting objects around camp, create simple patterns, and explore shapes through songs, games, and art. Throughout the week, campers will connect math to their new environment—counting friends, sorting items by color or size, and building routines together. By the end of the week, Wiz Kids will demonstrate understanding by creating a collaborative “Math Around Camp” poster that shows how numbers and patterns appear in their camp community.

Reading
Identifying Main Ideas and Celebrating Creativity:

Wiz Kids will strengthen their reading comprehension by identifying the main idea, key details, characters, and sequence of events across multiple stories. Through discussions and creative projects, they will explore themes of diversity, teamwork, and personal growth. By the end of the week, Wiz Kids will demonstrate understanding through retelling, phonics practice (letter P), recognizing rhymes, and creating a "parade float" that represents the stories’ main ideas and their own interpretations.

Math
Math on Parade — Counting, Patterns, and Shapes in Motion:

Wiz Kids will strengthen their math skills through hands-on activities that make learning fun and creative. They will practice counting and addition by designing and organizing parade floats, identify and extend patterns, and explore measurement using everyday items. By the end of the week, Wiz Kids will recognize and describe basic shapes and fractions, learning how shapes can change when sides or corners are added or removed.

Sequencing, Vocabulary, and Creative Retelling:

Wiz Kids will strengthen their reading comprehension by listening to stories, identifying key details, and sequencing events. They will expand their vocabulary, practice sight words, and explore rhyming and prediction skills. By the end of the week, Wiz Kids will demonstrate understanding through retelling activities, sentence-building practice, and a creative “story taco” project inspired by the story.

Math
Tacos and Totals — Counting, Grouping, and Story Math:

Wiz Kids will strengthen their understanding of counting, addition, and subtraction through fun, story-based activities. They will count forward and backward with Pete the Cat, explore pairs and grouping, and practice solving simple word problems. By the end of the week, Wiz Kids will apply their math skills by estimating, sorting, and creating taco-themed addition activities inspired by Dragons Love Tacos.

Exploring Problem-Solving and Discovery Through Stories:

Wiz Kids will strengthen their reading comprehension by retelling stories, identifying key events, and discussing characters, problems, and solutions. They will explore how imagination and perseverance help characters overcome challenges, connect reading with science by learning about plants and salamanders, and visualize story elements through art and hands-on projects. By the end of the week, Wiz Kids will demonstrate understanding through sequencing, vocabulary practice, and creative expression.

Nature Numbers — Counting, Sorting, and Patterns in the Outdoors:

Wiz Kids will strengthen their foundational math skills by practicing one-to-one correspondence, number recognition, and patterning. They will count, match, and sort objects by size and shape using a nature theme, and apply their skills through hands-on activities. By the end of the week, Wiz Kids will practice counting up to 5, simple addition, and complete a fun “Cows’ Contract” project to reinforce number sense and visual discrimination.

By the end of the week, Wiz Kids will perform a short group rhythm activity or chant that celebrates teamwork and the sounds of their new camp community.

Welcome to the Stage — Building Confidence and Creativity Through Play

Wiz Kids will explore the world of drama by using imagination, movement, and expression to tell stories and connect with others. They will learn how to communicate emotions and ideas through body language, facial expressions, and voice while participating in fun improvisation and group activities. Throughout the week, campers will work together to act out short scenes and storytelling games that build confidence and teamwork. By the end of the week, Wiz Kids will perform a brief, lighthearted skit that celebrates creativity, collaboration, and the joy of performing.

Engineering
Ready, Set, Build! — Exploring Shapes, Balance, and Teamwork

Wiz Kids will be introduced to engineering by exploring how shapes and balance help create strong, stable structures. They will work together to design and build simple towers and bridges using everyday materials, experimenting with what makes a structure sturdy or wobbly. Through hands-on play and teamwork, campers will develop problem-solving skills and curiosity about how things are built.

Art
Art Explorers — Colors, Shapes, and Creative Expression

Wiz Kids will be introduced to the world of art by exploring how colors, lines, and shapes can express ideas and emotions. They will learn basic art concepts through stories, guided drawings, and hands-on projects that encourage creativity and self-expression. Throughout the week, campers will experiment with mixing colors, using different textures, and creating their own imaginative masterpieces. By the end of the week, Wiz Kids will showcase their creativity with a “Camp Art Gallery” that celebrates their individuality and the joy of making art together.

Wiz Kids will develop social-emotional skills by exploring what makes each person unique and how to build positive relationships with others. They will practice identifying emotions, sharing about themselves, and showing kindness through stories, games, and group discussions. Throughout the week, campers will learn how to express feelings, listen to others, and work together as a team. By the end of the week, Wiz Kids will create a “Friendship Garden” where each camper adds a flower representing their strengths, helping grow a sense of belonging and community at camp.

Spanish
Bienvenidos a Español — Discovering Language Through Play

Wiz Kids will be introduced to the Spanish language through songs, movement, and games that spark curiosity and excitement for learning. They will explore how people around the world use different words to say the same things and learn simple classroom expressions like “sí,” “no,” and “gracias.” Throughout the week, campers will participate in interactive activities that build comfort hearing and repeating Spanish in a fun, low-pressure way. By the end of the week, Wiz Kids will create a “Word of the Day” wall featuring their favorite new Spanish words as a celebration of their first steps toward becoming young language explorers.

Exploring Sound and Rhythm:

Wiz Kids will discover that music is made up of different sounds and beats. They will explore fast and slow tempos, loud and soft dynamics, and create simple rhythms using clapping, tapping, and classroom instruments.

Drama
Expressive Communication:

Wiz Kids will learn how to express themselves using words, body language, and facial expressions. They’ll practice sharing ideas and feelings through fun dramatic play and storytelling.

Engineering
Build a Bridge:

Wiz Kids will explore how engineers design strong, balanced structures by building their own bridges that can hold a small toy. They will experiment with different materials and designs to see which shapes make a bridge stronger. Through teamwork and hands-on testing, Wiz Kids will learn about balance, weight distribution, and how support beams and arches help real bridges stay sturdy.

Art
Exploring Picasso and Abstract Portraits:

Wiz Kids will learn about artist Pablo Picasso and explore how he used shapes, color, and expression to create abstract portraits. They will look closely at Picasso’s famous works, discuss how art can show different emotions, and create their own Picasso-inspired self-portraits using bold colors and geometric shapes.

Understanding Feelings:

Wiz Kids will learn to recognize and name their own emotions and the emotions of others. Through stories and activities, they will practice expressing how they feel in healthy ways and understand that all feelings are okay.

Spanish
Greetings and Introductions in Spanish:

Wiz Kids will be introduced to the Spanish language and learn how to greet others by saying “Hola” (hello), “Adiós” (goodbye), and introduce themselves using “Me llamo…” (my name is). They will practice through songs, games, and a classroom scavenger hunt, building confidence using Spanish in everyday situations. By the end of the week, Wiz Kids will create a mini-booklet called Mi Libro de Saludos to show what they’ve learned about greetings and introductions.

Keeping the Beat:

Wiz Kids will practice keeping a steady beat through songs, chants, and movement. They will play along with instruments like rhythm sticks and drums to match the pulse of the music.

Body Awareness and Movement:

Wiz Kids will explore how their bodies move and how movement can show different emotions or actions during performances.

Engineering
Simple Machines – Levers:

Wiz Kids will discover how levers make work easier by creating their own seesaws using simple materials. They will test how changing the position of the lever and the size of the load affects movement and balance. As they build and adjust their designs, Wiz Kids will develop an understanding of effort, force, and how simple machines are used in everyday life to help lift and move objects.

Exploring Georges Seurat and Pointillism:

Wiz Kids will learn about artist Georges Seurat and his unique painting style called pointillism, where pictures are created using tiny dots of color. They will explore how colors can blend visually to form new shades and images. By the end of the week, Wiz Kids will create their own Seurat-inspired artwork using dots to make patterns, pictures, and colorful scenes.

Wiz Kids will explore their strengths, interests, and qualities that make them unique. They will practice using positive self-talk and celebrate what makes them special while learning that everyone grows and learns at their own pace.

Spanish
Numbers and Counting in Spanish:

Wiz Kids will strengthen their Spanish vocabulary by learning to count from one to ten (uno–diez) through songs, games, and movement-based activities. They will practice using numbers in fun, hands-on ways—feeding “el monstruo” pom-poms, playing bingo, and hopping through a Spanish number hopscotch. By the end of the week, Wiz Kids will confidently count, recognize, and say numbers in Spanish, and use them in simple addition phrases like

Tennis

Campers are introduced to red ball tennis, focusing on hand-eye coordination, basic racquet handling, and understanding court boundaries. Fun movement games and partner rally challenges help build familiarity with striking the ball and moving safely around the court.

Soccer

Introduce field zones, ball familiarity, and safety rules. Players practice simple dribbling using inside and outside of the foot, toe taps, and stopping the ball with the sole. Conditioning includes light cone zigzags and running form basics.

Tumbling

Introduction to tumbling safety, warm-up routines, and stretching. Students learn mat safety rules, body control, and basic balance exercises. Outcome: Demonstrate safe entry and exit on mats and perform five basic stretches independently.

Track & Field

Introduce basic running mechanics: proper posture, arm swing, and stride. Activities: short sprints (10–20 yards) and relay baton handoffs. Outcome: Students demonstrate consistent form over 10-yard sprints.

Dance

Introduction to movement and rhythm. Students learn body awareness, posture, and tempo using basic movements (marching, clapping, swaying). Outcome: Follow a 4-count beat and maintain posture through simple movements.

Swimming
Beginner

Beginner swimmers focus on water comfort, safety, and foundational movement skills. Instruction emphasizes breath control, submersion, floating on front and back, and basic propulsion using flutter kicks and arm paddling. Drills center on body positioning, blowing bubbles, and assisted glides, gradually increasing independence in shallow water. Campers set weekly personal goals to mark progress toward swimming short distances unassisted. Coaches maintain close supervision and use positive reinforcement to build water confidence and stamina.

Swimming
Intermediate

Intermediate swimmers refine stroke development and breathing coordination, introducing freestyle and backstroke mechanics. Drills focus on side breathing, efficient arm recovery, and rhythm in coordinated kicking. Campers practice structured sets emphasizing endurance and technique consistency across short laps. Instruction includes treading water, safety turns, and basic diving from poolside. Continuous assessment allows swimmers to set personal time or distance goals while preparing for advanced skill introduction.

Advanced

Advanced swimmers engage in stroke refinement, endurance conditioning, and advanced technique work across multiple strokes — freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. Sessions incorporate structured lap sets, timed intervals, and underwater streamline drills. Breathing techniques are refined for efficiency, and instruction extends to flip turns, starts, and pacing strategies. Emphasis is placed on goal tracking, personal bests, and self-assessment.
